Welcome to The Sage Mama! 

The Sage Mama is a new breed of store.  It is much more than just a store carrying the best products for your childrens’ learning and playing, it’s also a window into the life of a hard-working, constantly learning mother of three.  My name is Jolene, and I want to share with you my journey as I take on homeschooling, running a home office and creating a life for myself as a fun, caring and interesting woman while also propritizing my family.

 Over the past 7 years I have researched, read, and experimented with hundreds of different products, books and services available to us as parents.  Some have been wonderful additions to our family life, adding amazing play value and learning time to my children’s world.  Others have been less helpful, and some even detrimental to our time together.  In our store you will find products that have enriched our home and reviews of products that were not helpful to us.  I won’t sell something unless we have tried it and I believe in it.

The other part of The Sage Mama is a journal of my development as a parent and teacher to my own children.  I share with you the ups and downs of making curriculm choices, choosing toys and games, joining and maintaining homeschooling groups of all sizes, balancing the needs of multiple age children while homeschooling… basically life in our world classroom.  All of these choices are still only a part of me as a person though, and you’ll also find woven in this blog a look at what it takes to balance the needs of my family with the needs of me as an individual.
