The Craft Closet at our House

sage and kiya felting.JPGThis is a list of what I keep on hand for art and craft time at our house. We actually keep a special set of block and stick crayons and Ferby pencils just for school work, along with the expensive watercolors and paper. The rest is open for use as needed.

· Plain White drawing paper
· Cardstock- soft ivory and black, plus a color assortment
· Watercolor paper (the medium cheap stuff from Strathmore, save Arches cold press 300 lb. for our best work) I buy 50-20×30” sheets at the beginning of the year
· Recycled papers from wrappers, magazines, catalogs
· Old greeting cards and photos I’m not using for our scrapbook
· Tissue Paper- bleeding and non-bleeding types


· Coffee Filters
· Kite Paper
· Rice Paper
· Poster Board- metallic esp.
· Elmer’s Glue
· Glue Stick
· Scotch Tape
· Packing Tape
· Pipe Cleaners- all kinds, colors, sizes, bumpy ones and regular, nylon and cotton ones
· Floral wire
· Thin wire bits from when b does electrical projects
· Miter box for sawing small woodworking projects
· Egg beater drill (Fiskars makes one still)
· Wood burner (Michaels sells one)
· Nails (an assortment, a bunch of roofing nails to start out)
· Hammer
· A big log stump to hammer nails into on the porch or in the yard
· Ruler
· Broken colored eggs shells from easter/ostara
· Tiny pinecones
· Tiny seashells
· Acorn caps, acorns
· Dried pods
· Indian corn
· Melon seeds
· Pressed leafs and flowers
· Stones- all sizes
· Glass ‘pebbles’

· Fake flowers and leaves

· Food colors (though we never ever use them in edibles)
· Homemade paint and dough making materials: cornstarch, condensed milk, flour, cream of tartar,ziplock baggies ect.

· Craypas oil crayons
· Good quality beeswax crayons
· Good colored pencils- Ferby or Art Makes Sense brand thick leads, thin lead Prismacolor and a set of Rembrandt watercolor pencils. Only the first are “needed”
